SEO placement (Search Engine Optimization placement) is one aspect of increasing traffic to your website and/or blog. As you already know, without traffic nothing happens.
Traffic is everything, and free traffic is even better, because if you rank on the first page of Google for your targeted keywords, thousands of people will see the link to your site, and the law of averages dictates that the more people that see your site, the more that will visit it.
There are many other areas to optimize on your website in order for it to be profitable, .
But without traffic all that hard work is going to be for nothing. It’s likened unto buying all the materials needed to build a business location, applying all the manual labor to construct it, but you never receive a customer (especially if the business is located in some remote location outside of town where nobody comes by).
SEO placement is applying certain rules to your website which causes your site to become appetizing to the search engines. There are two main ways of directing traffic to your website, blog, or article. PPC (Pay Per Click) and/or search engines.
Traffic from search engines is organic traffic (or free traffic). Currently, the major search engines are Google, Yahoo, and MSN, and from these three according to reports I have read, Google accounts for somewhere between 75 to 90% of all search engine traffic.
From this it’s pretty easy to see that getting ranked high with Google will have some pretty awesome effects on our traffic.
Now, you may be asking yourself, Okay, so how do I get SEO placement in Google? Are there tools or resources available to help me get the SEO placement I need? If so, then where are they? How do I find the better ones and avoid the SEO placement tools that are going to be a waste of my time?
Yes, there are both tools and resources available. Obviously, the best tools are going to be paid products that you will need to buy, but there are some good tools and resources available online that are free.
A lot of the free products will have an option to upgrade which is a good thing because after you get traffic coming to your site and start making sales, you will have the option if you want to upgrade for the extra features available.
