One of the most visited websites in the world consist of twitter.com, facebook.com, linkedin.com, and the other major social networking websites. The problem is these websites are the most advert controlled websites out there which leaves website marketers wondering how to use social networking as a means of internet marketing. Well it is possible to gain backlinks from social networking and even get thousands in traffic from a link going viral, but some modifications to practice and theory should be made remembering if you start posting links or ads on most social networking sites you will be banned within a few hours.

The first thing to understand is the major social networking sites do not moderate their users pages. You are allowed to have a business page which has the sole purpose of marketing your website. If your really wanted to (I don’t recommend it) you could post thousands of links all of your facebook and it will be left alone by the admin of the social networking sites. Now if you step into the forums, chat rooms, or where the other users are and begin posting links to your site then you are spamming and will get in trouble. So remember it is ok to spam your friends, but not strangers on the social networking sites.

Even though it is not against the rules to spam your friends it is still not a good idea. You should really try working your adverts in secretly. Now if you have a facebook page and you place a link to one of your sites where it is appropriate then you are not spamming, but if you are using your wall trying to get traffic posting link after link not only are you spamming you can expect to see a drop in friends. You should be concerned with networking on the social networking sites and joining groups within your niche. Make friends with webmasters and when you need some links they will be more than happy to give them to you. There is also quite a few bloggers among the social websites and if you win over a few in your niche you will open up the possibilities of guest posts and other link opportunities so keep your eyes out when speaking with the online communities. Personally I use twitter and other social networking sites to get in touch with my traffic rather than using them to drive traffic. I prefer to speak and ask my traffic how they found me what they like on my blogs and what they would like to see changed. You can also set up customer report on twitter or run surveys on your products on facebook.

It is a known fact that people nowadays prefer to view information from a screen, may it be from a TV, PC or cell phones rather than read in newspaper ads, magazines and other print media. In a fast-paced lifestyle like today, who would want to waste their precious time reading text when at the touch of a button one could get information?

I’m doing a video marketing report. I need to accomplish this as soon as I can. It has something to do with our thesis. I’m looking now for reliable resources.

I already found some details at http://www.quickvideomarketing.com/

Somehow, I do still need more reliable information to make it this report. Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance :)
